WHY IS THIS A BIG DEAL?
For 259 years Samuel Smith has been kegging and transporting beer in handcrafted barrels, a rare and timeless tradition growing in scarcity. As one can imagine, the results are spectacular and worth the effort. For the brewery, however, it makes distribution incredibly difficult. In England, pubs will tap a wooden keg to serve beers. In contrast, the U.S. isn't set up this way. So we almost never see these types of beers on tap- especially those coming from England to Missouri.
